For our July artist spotlight we are delighted to share with you Champayne Wilson from Lexington, Kentucky. Champayne specializes in on location pageants, weddings, photoshoots and special occasions. Meeting Champayne for the first time we remember thinking how beautiful she was! Oh my goodness... her smile is just everything! In only a few moments we were simply smitten with her.
What is your background? My family is full of Cosmetologists so I was born into the industry. The past several years of being a professional makeup artist has changed by life.
What made you decide to be a makeup artist? Pageantry, I competed in pageants and enjoyed helping others more than I did myself get ready for the interviews and stage competitions.
What are some of the questions you need to ask yourself before you decide to be a makeup artist? What interests you about makeup? Can you handle stress? Are you looking to create a career being a makeup artist or is this just going to be a side job?
What has been your favorite event/client so far? I love working with photographers, you get to be so creative and create different looks.
Tell us about your business? I work Monday-Friday for a local photographer. I spend my weekends traveling onsite to weddings, pageants, etc.
How did you learn about The Perfect Face? Being a pageant competitor everyone knows The Perfect Face, especially if you were a big Miss USA fan.
Tell us about meeting Danielle for the first time. Okay, I can’t lie. I had a total omg is this really THE Danielle Doyle moment! She is the absolute sweetest person ever! She really does care about each and everyone of us wanting to become a successful Make-Up Artist.
What did you like best about the course? I liked everything about the course, it was extremely helpful and very hands on. Even after completion of the course you are still welcome to ask questions and get advice.
Would you recommend this course to other students? Absolutely!
What is your favorite TPF Cosmetics product? I love the eyeshadows! They are very pigmented with very little to no fall out!
Any upcoming events you will be attending? Nothing planned extremely big as I am about to be off for a few months.
